Former Niobrara County Agriculture Bureau Federation President Andy Greer was awarded the 2021 Wyoming Agriculture Bureau Federation Leadership Award at the organization's 102nd annual meeting. The award was presented in Cody on November 12th to those who have spent a lot of time to improve agriculture in Wyoming under the leadership of the Federation of Agricultural Bureaus.

Todd Fornstrom, President of WyFB, said: "We are proud to recognize Andy Greer's leadership in agriculture through the Wyoming Federation of Agriculture Bureaus." "Excellent. His leadership and organizational skills are two powerful attributes, but more importantly, his kindness and motivation to help others make him very worthy of this award."

With the firm support of his wife Brenda, Andy's service to neighbors and the community is endless. Andy served on the board of directors of the Niobrara County Agricultural Bureau Federation for many years, and served as the county magistrate from 2009 to 2019.

When he started serving on the board of the County Agriculture Bureau, he also served on the Niobara County Fair Commission, which was the closest position in his mind. Even after his fair board of directors retired, Greer faithfully helped livestock judges, fat sales, and wherever help was needed.

Greer's next adventure was to serve on the local Electric Cooperative Committee, where he represented Niobara Electric on the board of directors of the Wyoming Rural Electricity Association. He also served as WREA chairman for two years. He remained on the boards of NEA and WREA until this year they sold the Rans Creek ranch and retired to Sheridan County.

According to Kevin Baars, WyFB Southeastern District Director, people like Greer are rare. "Niobrara County missed him," Bals wrote. "Sheridan County is blessed."

Balls also pointed out that Greer has always been committed to helping others in any need. "He is always on time (or very close) with a kind heart, a ready smile, a bad joke, and is willing to give everything to get the job done-especially when desserts are involved. Andy has never encountered it before. The cookies he doesn't like," Bals said.

Greer said when accepting the award that this was completely unexpected. "It's an honor to be a member of this Farm Bureau family," Greer said. "Thank you very much for this honor."

"Andy is willing to complete the work at all costs, and his unwavering dedication to the Federation of Agriculture and Agricultural Bureaus makes him very worthy of this award," Fornstrom concluded. "We are proud to be able to thank him for his leadership and service to Wyoming Agriculture through the Niobrara County Agriculture Bureau Federation."
